Tips and how to's for designing your website with office live

6/27/2010 Sigh. With the new Windows Live updates, it seems it is no longer possible to get alerts for new comments on Spaces Blog. It also doesn't seem to be possible to turn off the ability of people to leave a comment. Constantly having to check my comments for spam is not a 'feature' I want. |
Even if you don't want to make as drastic a change to your site as I have done to this one, I think you may find some useful tips here that will help you improve your website. From the header to the footer and everything in between I share the tips I have learned from doing my own websites with OL.

in case you are wondering...
This is an Office Live Small Business website (notice the "Powered by..." logo below). And it was designed using the Office Live Web Site Design tools. The Advanced Features were used to turn off the header, footer and navigation. Everything you see here was done with zones, a few tables and CSS code. With a little creativity and experimenting there is a lot you can do with Office Live.
You can take a little peek under the hood and see the zones and a bit of an explanation on just how I did all that to get this site to look the way it does.
